     @FinchHaven @robertvh @tchambers @activitypubblueskybridge As a person who used to be able to peer into the Twitter firehose I can assure you that's not a good way to enjoy a social network. Just like any other place you need to find your community and if you do then the space becomes interesting.

     My point is that if the Bluesky firehose is little different (or really, even more full of rando posters) than the Mastodon Federated feed I can watch at any time, what compelling reason do I have to try and find "Yet Another Community"?

     Little-to-none

     And as to Twitter, yeah

     Was on that since <2009, so yeah

     @FinchHaven @robertvh @tchambers @activitypubblueskybridge I'm not necessarily suggesting you need to go to Bluesky and find a new community today, I was more so saying that if the process of observing a global feed never feels like good content. It might just be me but I've never found the Federated Feed to be very compelling either, I think Eugen has said that it was mostly created as a way to give people content when there was little usage so I don't think it's particularly useful today.

     @FinchHaven @mergesort @robertvh @tchambers @activitypubblueskybridge because some people I follow will be going to BlueSky. This way I can stay on Mastodon and still keep up with them. Not interested in the Algorithm, but I would like to follow the people.
