Let me repeat myself ONE MORE TIME. I'm a 59 year old BLACK WOMAN. You have a lot of fucking nerve attempting to tell me about the impure Dems. I've been voting ALL MY LIFE for the lesser of TWO evils. This time, you are voting for your OWN FUCKING SURVIVAL. If you don't get that by now, don't talk to me anymore. I'm tired of your privilege to even say SHIT like that out loud.

What adult reasonably believes they get exactly what they want? That's not life. That's not democracy. That's not a mature expectation.
Democracy isn't going to survive, unless a lot more people return to reality.

there's two replies to that:
1. the genuine brittle idealist who won't participate unless they get perfect
2. the concern troll voices who realize they can work on that inflexibility and encourage their inaction because the real world is too messy and they "sully" themselves by getting messy as well

as if bad policies don't affect them
inflexible idealism is in a way worse than outright malice. you can oppose malice. how do you oppose "i don't care until the world is easy"

Voting for the "lesser of two evils" is how you get LESS EVIL!Why do people struggle to understand that?

MeredithW (meredithw@wandering.shop)'s status on Thursday, 11-May-2023 04:45:10 JST MeredithW @StillIRise1963 I'm old enough to remember the election of 1968 where people saying they refused to vote for "the lesser of two evils" helped Richard Nixon become president. People are willfully blind to the fact that if they pull that crap, we (and they) end up with the *worse* of two evils, often much worse.
