   I'm writing the "manifesto" for journos to find on my website.

   I'm going to make it so very clear, and give all the evidence, that I asked for help, so many times. And that I never got it. And that [HYPERLINK BLOCKED] were easier to find then mental healthcare. Even though I'm already banned from owning them.

   The narrative will be crystal clear. This guy did everything right. It still happened. It's time to try a ban, like every other developed nation.

   You can have them back when people like me have a support system that's not the local Cabella's.

     If I was addicted to gaming, I would be able to switch to another game.

     If I was addicted to this game, I would continue playing it despite the social factors. I desperately want to play. I'm bored. I'm tired of pacing. I'm tired of organizing. I'm tired of lifting.

     I want to play my game. I want it more than anything. I can't bring myself to do it because of how awful I'm treated every time, and how I risk account suspensions and loss of my progress if I say anything back.

     I have identified the problem and the solution. Given that I'm infinitely more familiar with the situation than anybody else in the whole universe could ever hope to be, I'd certainly hope that you'd take my word for it.

     @bot We've already established the absence of an addiction; If I was addicted, I would continue playing despite the social obstacles. That's what an addiction *is*.

     The operative problem here, the only thing that has a common thread through League, the job market, and even the fediverse, is a complete lack of social connections, and belonging. Switching to whatever video games you find "acceptable" doesn't solve this underlying problem, and would likely add a few more.

     I want social belonging. In fact, every human being needs it to survive. This has been backed up in study after study after review after metaanalysis of earlier studies.      I'm more or less locked to that game. Much like you people are locked to whichever anime you're locked to.

     The game cannot go, it's simply a part of my workflow more integral than the kernel is to GNU/Linux. It would take decades of work to remove it, and there would be massive stability issues afterwards.

     The game stays. There are hundreds of millions of monthly active players, I refuse to believe there's nobody for me to play with.

     This insistence that I give up everything that I am and everything that I've achieved in life is likely why I'm going to be on the news in a few days.

     You surely know that game is renowned for its genuinely toxic fanbase, right? Doesn't matter how popular it is, it's designed to be competitive and hostile. Try a co operative MMORPG, maybe something like guildwars. Honestly it sounds like you're just starved of a social life, have you tried volunteering somewhere? Plenty of places will take anyone who is willing to give their time, you'll meet people and it might even help you sort your life out in other ways. At worst, you'll have done something positive with your time.

     The problem is the janny system.

     I'm built, tuned, and battle-tested to take that sort of shit, *****IF I CAN GIVE IT BACK*****. This is the most salient point. It's why I surrounded it with 5 asterisks and uppercased it.

     It's been proven that if I say even ten percent of what I receive from a single player, I recieve warnings and risk losing my life's work.

     So I have to stay in those parameters. This causes issues, because now not only can I not make these people hurt, but I can't even *give statistics and data to show why they're fucking wrong**

     It also comes down to the split. If there were, say, one message out of, say, a thousand, where someone said anything nice to me, it'd be much, much easier to ignore the cruft. But that's not what we see in the data. We see 100% nastiness, and 0% anything else.

     That's an awfully big jump that, seemingly intentionally, leaves out the last few *years* of me calmly, patiently, asking for help and reaching out through proper channels.

     Making suggestions of mass disruption to society was 1) A final resort after failsafe after failsafe after failsafe after protection after backstop after procedure after failsafe didn't work over a period of *years* 2) Proof that you guys can, indeed, see my cries for help... you just don't care. Until it affects you, somehow.

     Do I genuinely *want* to do any of these things? Of course not! I want to continue to help those around me, I want to continue making people laugh like a good clown, and I want to enjoy my hobbies! I don't think any part of that is at all unreasonable.

     The sad, unfortunately, tragic thread throughout this whole situation is that the things I don't want to do, the things that everyone will villainize me for, are, almost certainly.... required. I would be taking these actions not because I want to, but because nothing else has worked. And that's the worst part of it.

     And remember, this *also* applies to the topics that you're conveniently not touching on, such as the job market and the fediverse itself.

     I cook every day. I can't afford fast food, you see. Nobody will hire me. I've put out 6,000 resumes in two years and have gotten zero callbacks in the same amount of time.

     Unfortunately, you can only cook so much, especially when you're trying to drop weight.
