The operative problem here, the only thing that has a common thread through League, the job market, and even the fediverse, is a complete lack of social connections, and belonging. Switching to whatever video games you find "acceptable" doesn't solve this underlying problem, and would likely add a few more.
I want social belonging. In fact, every human being needs it to survive. This has been backed up in study after study after review after metaanalysis of earlier studies. It's a known fact: People.
