@thomasfuchs Absolutely *everything* in Orkney runs on Facebook and its messenger. Everything. If it just keeled over and disappeared, so many local businesses and organisations would be scrambling to figure out what to do and how to communicate with people. Loads of places don't have an email address or web page, just a Facebook page and maybe a phone number.

Awwww, this wacky folding #LiveLaughLocalTalk printer is misbehaving too. Paper feeding problems, plus a dodgy ink cartridge. That’s a shame :/

This is an HP DeskWriter 320. It’s a portable colour inkjet printer. Nice and closed and square to transport.

But then unfolds into a wacky V shape for printing!

So then @paulrickards and I were playing around trying to get our networks talking to each other.

After a couple of false starts, it turns out oldsk00l IP stuff *really* doesn't like any kind of NAT malarky, and I'm currently trapped behind carrier-level NAT that I can't do anything about.

So Paul did some digging and managed to whip up some sort of magic Python UDP tunnel and we've somehow managed to print to each other's ImageWriters across the Atlantic :D

But it's far beyond my skillz (maybe one of you clever folk can get it going!)

Then @vga256 found the IP extension to Apple's AppleTalk Internet Router. Mildly perplexing software, but seemed to be figureable-out.
