@kingrat I read through one of the questionnaires (I think for Public Trust). The main thing that threw me was three people who know me well and can vouch for my daily activities. I barely leave the house except to walk the dog and know (well) precisely one person I'm not married to. So I meet the "no travel/foreign contacts" part, but there's hardly anyone who can definitively say I'm on the up-and-up.

And while I haven't had any "contacts with law enforcement", they're bound to come up with something if they dig deep enough (which wouldn't surprise me at all with the current administration).

I'm honestly surprised by how many jobs listings include Public Trust or Top Secret security clearances (neither of which I have, obvz).

Just found a post where the first reply opens with "F1RST!". What is this, 2009? (If only...)

Applied for three jobs this morning. The phone has rung twice already, from numbers that don't come up in websearch and without leaving voicemail.

This is going to be a fun time.

I'm getting recruiters contacting me presumably through LinkedIn (which is fine) but their emails are going to my Yahoo address which I haven't actively used for anything in at least 10 years.

The strongest argument for an upper age limit for the presidency is sitting in office right now. Not for dementia reasons, but so that they live long enough to be prosecuted and punished for their actions.

Just watched a half dozen people get taken by a too-good-to-be-true crypto scam on one of the message boards.

If someone posts "I'm selling my collection below market value and the only way you can buy it from me is Bitcoin" hold on to your wallets.

@kingrat @toddo If all of your ranked choices are eliminated, then you lose your voice. (That's an important point I should have made more clear.)

@kingrat @toddo Disagree, rank them all, especially if you feel strongly about any candidate(s) /not/ winning. Rank the one(s) you like at the top, the one(s) you absolutely despise at the bottom, and your best opinions for the rest in the middle.

After you stop ranking, you lose all say in the later rounds.
