News flash, we interrupt the anti-Israel rant you are in the middle of writing (centered around the Hamas report of an Israeli attack on a hospital), to call attention to news that the rocket was fired by the Palestinian Islamic Jihad. Please update rant accordingly.

@freemo US govt has confirmed. This will devolve into an argument about who is a neutral third party. The evidence linking it to the Islamic Jihad group: video from multiple angles, eye-witness reports, an analysis from the IDF, and an intercepted phone call between two terrorists. The evidence saying it was Israel: as far as I know, an immediate and unsupported accusation from Hamas? which they apparently knew was incorrect, but it still worked, with the help of decades of propaganda.

@freemo I hunted down references and wrote something up. Unfortunately, it will not fit in this !#$!% 500 character limited space. So I uploaded it as a LinkedIn article. @thomasfuchs Migration, like much of the current Mastodon landscape, is imperfect, but still better than existing alternatives... it does at least work (sans some things like post history). I migrated from mas.to to mastodon.acm.org just to see for myself and also try to encourage more visibility by different groups, though it's a bit quiet here, unfortunately. But my post history isn't all that valuable. I remain hopeful that issue will be better solved at some point in the future.

@thomasfuchs 'cause it's an 8-bit computer, yuk yuk! Forgive me, I can't tell if that's supposed to be an implicit substrate of the humor landscape.
