My sister got some bad medical advice from it recently. Like many folks she just read the first thing listed and didn't even realize it was the AI overview.

Luckily she asked me about it. I told her it was wrong and pointed her to an official information source.

And then I told her to *never* rely on google for medical advice, especially these days!!

Stop questioning people when they tell you something about their health status. Just believe them and listen to them.

First, most folks won't talk about their health often. They're more likely to lie, to pretend to be well, because most folks do not deal well with illness, esp. chronic or terminal illness.

Second, you can't possibility know someone's health status just by looking at them. And unless you live with them you only see a tiny slice of their life.

My story, in brief:

I caught an unknown virus in Dec 1989. I thought I'd recovered but then started getting new symptoms in Jan 1990. In March I went on medical leave.

Over the next 5 years I went to dozens of doctors but got no diagnosis until 1995. I tried to keep working but finally got too sick to work in 2000.

Pushing myself all those years led to a permanent worsening of my condition.

Not a good idea! 😔
