@stevendbrewer In Ontario, the electricity utility used to be called Ontario Hydro, a name which referenced the massive hydroelectric power plant at Niagara Falls. That got shortened to Hydro, as in, "My Hydro bill is going to be so high this month."

@LCWebsXOXO The story of the Texas Education Agency taking over the Houston school board is fascinating. Parents have been fighting this every step of the way, but they do not hold the power in this situation.

@LCWebsXOXO Houston is already the most Democrat-leaning part of the state. I guess we can hope that this issue increases voter turnout, but it's hard to be optimistic. People who are beat down like this tend to turn away from politics, which decreases their likelihood of voting. It's part of the reason why GOP cruelty is such a winning strategy for maintaining power.
