@ross This is a good approach, auditing plugin dependency is definitely a win.

@janboddez Less plugins = less updates is definitely a good one. Personally I prefer smaller, less complex plugins too, but these seem to tend towards less supported plugins over time (gut instinct, anecdotal evidence).

@com Is WordPress doing a better job of rolling broken plugins back yet? Saw a change request for this, but lost track of it. Also feels like certain developers are better/worse than others, but would be interesting to have stats.

Even if the US election turns full face in the next few minutes, it's clear western democracy - US, UK or the EU - is struggling with a more complex, connected and conflicting world. Forcing a choice between two extremes is a good way to amplify that feedback loop.

@lesteph From what I've looked at so far, cloud-hosted Joplin is probably about the same price. Think I'm going to spend the money on a Raspberry Pi 5 instead and give self-hosting a go... Wish me luck!
