i personally like RDP over vnc, `xrdp` . This article got me started on it. https://www.digitalocean.com/community/tutorials/how-to-enable-remote-desktop-protocol-using-xrdp-on-ubuntu-22-04 - i use rustdesk or remminia for a client.
