I will be starting the upgrade to Mastodon v4.3.0 on Masto.host.
This is a large upgrade and I will need to monitor the infrastructure while it is being deployed. So, it can take a while to reach every instance on Masto.host.
You can expect a couple of minutes of downtime during the upgrade.

@minego Are you talking about notification grouping? That is in test in a beta release: https://github.com/mastodon/mastodon/releases/tag/v4.3.0-beta.1
Still, not in the stable and Masto.host only upgrades to stable releases.
@BeAware Yep, like mentioned in the linked discussion:
'Now, I understand that only deleting posts that are older than a date if they were not interacted with like it's the case of `tootctl status remove` can be "computationally heavy procedure that creates extra database indices". But we could explore ways to make this content filter of interacted posts less demanding.'

Mastodon v4.2.8 has just been released.
On this release Mastodon changes the default registration mode to being closed. Meaning that if you have never changed the registration mode for your server, it will be closed by default.
Also, it introduces a feature that will "automatically require approval for new registrations in the absence of moderators". Meaning that if no user with moderation permission has accessed the server in one week, the registration mode changes to require manual approval.
@forteller on Masto.host nobody pays for bandwidth, so it's not something that instance admins hosted on Masto.host need to do.
@AnthonyJK There is nothing you need to do. It's was already being installed: https://mastodon.social/@mastohost/111941048318109709
You can disable those notifications if you want. Read https://masto.host/mastodon-critical-update-notification/ for details.

@alan Yep, it's not possible to change the Favicon on Masto.host.
The Favicon is hardcoded and needs to be compiled with every update.
New Website, Who Dis? 😛
Masto.host website redesign is live: https://masto.host/
You can read the announcement at https://masto.host/new-website-who-dis/
The redesign was @christian work. He's great! I recommend hiring him if you need any front-end development work.
@pfefferle perfect, sorry but I am literally seated at the dentist chair 😂 impossible to look deeper into this now.
@pfefferle if tomorrow at this time 3pm UTC works for you, that works
@pfefferle @binarytango @pfefferle.wordpress.com I have no idea why there would be a difference from Masto.host but like I said, we can schedule a call and try a live debug to get to the bottom of it.
@pfefferle @binarytango @pfefferle.wordpress.com can you see from Mastodon.social? Just issued the follow again.
