@bot @MisterRogersSnapped @Utility no it's not. you can quantify the theft of vegetables (or seeds) by counting how many you had before and how many you have now. it's fundamentally different from using an idea that someone else came up with. ideas aren't physical things. you can't just pretend that they are. -

@bot my point is, crunk's games wouldn't be better if the state protected some unrealized income that they may or may not have generated. crunk would not have worked any harder on his game if he sat there flicking his bean imagining himself siccing the government on me. or maybe he would, if the purpose of the game was to spread ideas that make my life worse. media cannot be of a higher quality or a finer substance just because the state protects any unrealized income it might or might not generate. there are countless counterexamples for this. intellectual property protects a mountain of radioactive waste. it's alarming that you simp for it so hard. -

@bot let's forget the catalytic components for a second. it's obviously not clicking for you. suppose crunk makes a game. he has a choice. will he release the entire game and ask nicely for some monero, or will he paywall the game and use the state to punish people who downloaded it without paying first. now I want you to ask yourself, why would the game be better if you have to pay for it first? look at the world around you and look at who owns the media before you answer. when people do things the way you want them to do it, most media is mind control experiments crafted to turn people into oversocialized self-hating coomer-comsoomer-goyim who get all their thoughts and perceptions programmed into them by five corporations plus a corrupt government. the consequences have been an absolute disaster. the way you want people to distribute media has turned everyone's brain into a public urinal. I don't see any path to recovery. -

@bot ideas cannot be owned or stolen because of what copying entails. if I have a pie, and you steal it, I have to not have that pie anymore. if you look at my pie it and make another one, you haven't stolen anything from me. I can't go to the policeman and say look bot stole my pie. he will point at the kitchen counter and say no she didn't, it's right there. if I say here's my pie and here's goatmeal's original pie recipe, and you come along and say no no this is bot's original pie recipe, then what you have done to me is a transgression, but it's not theft. it's lying and bearing false witness. it can't be theft because I still have my pie. -

I have already explained that I think you need to have something that I am taking away. I already explained that I can't take something from you that you don't have yet. I have already explained that claiming credit for thinking of something first when someone else thought of it first instead is a problem, but it isn't the same thing as theft. -

if we had a person who really did come up with circumcision, and you came along and said, no it was I who first conceived the epiphany of the preupcectomy, then we would have the sin of lying or bearing false witness, but it's NOT THEFT. but nobody is entitled to anything. ideas cannot be owned. -

I already told you what I meant when I said that something is or isn't stolen. something has to be there, that when you take it, is not there anymore.
if you mean to say that a person can take credit for something they didn't come up with, we can discuss the problems that arise from this situation. but this isn't what theft is. it's a different transgression from theft.
