We moved slowly and fixed stuff, but now it is here: #Tusky 27.0, a new major release. Most of the development time went into the biggest new feature, support for the Mastodon 4.3 notification policies. I implemented multiple versions of it and the feature was heavily discussed internally, hopefully resulting in the best experience for users.
Google Play wants #Tusky to provide a "safety standard against child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE)" until 22nd January or we won't be able to publish any updates. Tusky does not host any user generated content. No idea what to put there. I assume Tusky is not alone with that problem? Has anyone had their "safety standard" successfully reviewed by Google already? What did you write?
Booting up the phone I replaced 3 years ago. Tusky has the old logo but it works perfectly. Most other apps just show errors. Kinda faszinating how old all the stuff feels but its only three years.
The next big challenge will be implementing grouped notifications. Mostly because we want to stay compatible with servers that don't have the feature. #tuskydev
I once saw a really good resource on how to write alt text being shared here on Fedi but I can't find it anymore. I think it was a webpage and it had a lot of examples. Any ideas?
If you are affected by the bug where #Tusky drops your draft when you switch to another app while composing you may want to switch to the nightly build, it will be fixed there today.
