@soatok This post is 100% spot on and probably a little too kind.
Shameless plug, but I hope you guys don't mind... dealing with this exact set of problems has become my life's goal. I've been working on an open source E2EE replacement for not just email, but email and Exchange.
Not quite ready for a demo, but hoping for a first alpha release later this year.
@rysiek The only downside I've found so far to Rust is complexity. It's a deep language and you have to have a good grasp on certain concepts before even a "Hello world" makes a ton of sense. It's very much worth the effort, though.
@rysiek This. The only problem is that at least in the US, we are dealing with people in power creating the dystopia *and* the awful people at the bottom who put them there. It really feels like the "this is fine" meme.
For a little while now I've been working in private on a new programming language, Mifflin, as a fun project with a purpose.
Just started learning #Zig because Go (which I started it in) is not a good implementation language.
While not as complicated as #Rust or #D, it's definitely not a simple language to write in.... feeling like the REPL loop I just wrote is an accomplishment.
I never thought I'd ever hear #country and #hiphop merge into something, let alone something that works. If you want to hear something different, give this a listen.
Today I learned that those frozen fish fillets you get at the grocery store are *much* tastier grilled. The more I #grill, the more I'm amazed at its versatility.
Non-toxic #Jesus follower, musician, #dnd enjoyer, lover of kittehs, former #Haiku dev, replacing e-mail, Outlook, and Exchange, and dayjob in IT. Lots of #programming, mostly #Kotlin.
