@ryanhoulihan The coverage seems even more devoid of balance than the 9/11 era. I try to think how I’ve never been in the positon of either side there, but it is shocking the level of dehumanising hatred on both sides. The perennial Peter Capaldi Doctor Who clip always comes to mind. So many people condemned to die because a small number of men can’t sit down and agree a way not to. https://youtu.be/BJP9o4BEziI?si=fj1FlzeE6LLs8YNh
@ryanhoulihan really sad that such things just become assets and are never enjoyed as intended eh. The sort of thing you'd see some rich old white guy opening in an end of the world disaster movie before the big asteroid hits :)
@ryanhoulihan surprised not to see any of them on Taskmaster as yet. The great Julian Clary on the UK one just now. Fell off my couch when he was asked about his greatest regret and he replied, "Cunnilingus" 😂
@ryanhoulihan to pass an hour with a malt before bed, I turned on Moonfall on Prime. JHC. The sort of film that’s such a cliche ridden and incoherent mess that it makes you think ChatGPT could probably do a better job (Joke, strike supporter here but jeez…).
@ryanhoulihan I’ve never bothered with Tik Tok or Instagram myself as I’m not mad about video content and prefer to read - there you go, another preference thing :) That’s interesting though, and can’t be anything other than a good thing. With any luck younger generations will fit the curent cliches and have more empathy and understanding of the different strokes of different folks, which can only make the world a better place, despite the mewling of elder generations to the contrary.
@ryanhoulihan so it boils down to a really fuzzy and vague categorisation which took decades to even get back to where more ancient cultures were in accepting the spectrum of human existence. Some western religions have a lot to answer for there I think. Closing minds off and pushing them down a single path never helps anything.
@ryanhoulihan it seems to me we are increasingly understanding that our generally superficial discussions about our innermost thoughts, feelings and wants means we are only now just attempting to understand each other at all. A, maybe trivialising example for me is the discussions about inner monologue and ability or not to visualise objects in our minds. We really have little understanding of how other people see and experience the world at all and most of our curent understanding is simplistic
@ryanhoulihan as old a Macallan as we could afford to was our Hogmanay tipple when I was in my early 20s, last drink before returning home for the bells and off to find a party after.
@ryanhoulihan a big reason I follow you mate is I'm certain you know lots of things I don't, even putting your life experiences aside. Please tell me to fuck right off if I ever reply guy, I'm from Glasgow and am well used to it :)
@ryanhoulihan the more money someone has, the higher up the socio or even psychopathy scale they are IMHO. Monetary success as the top means failure as a human.
