@BeAware@LaurensHof I cannot judge the effort Meta has to federate Threads. I only see that in general it takes organizations a "lot of time" from announcements of federation to effective launch. (Ghost, Tumblr)
Value: there of course different ways to measure it. Mine is currently: - number of users - lever for other organization to start federation as well
Do I see a risk of pseudo-decentralization? Yes, but my understanding of the fundamentals is too limited to come to a sound judgement.
" - The wider meaning of the term fediverse (as in, it includes Bluesky and Nostr) is something I've mainly noticed in the US based tech sector
- Over at the European side of the people that I know in the fediverse community, this is not happening at all, and there is in general barely any attention being paid to Bluesky, Nostr and Farcaster.
This means to me that the US or US companies will lead in the #fediverse as we Europeans concentrate on the meaning of fediverse instead of making it accessible as much to everybody. I know there is a lot of clichรฉ in my thinking and I am a bit too simplistic. Still I do not see a reason why the past should not repeat.
@fediversereport I am a big fan of your report and I have one style request: I am slightly color blind, therefore I have hard times to see the links in your report. Is it possible to give it more contrast or similar to the rest of the text?
