The @Tutanota Appimage Desktop Client for Linux is glorious!

I was struggling to get the Flatpak to launch so I decided to give the Appimage a try. Zero issues. 👍

I'm an American and now actively looking to move to hosting, email, storage, all data services, actually, to companies that are not located in the US. I'm already using @Tutanota for my secure and private email. Currently looking for web hosting, preferably based in Canada. Probably storage services based in Canada, as well.

Any and all recommendations will be appreciated.

@chris Yep. Exactly. The name definitely NEEDS to change. They should have changed it years ago.

I think most of us can agree that the name of the @GIMP project is a terrible name. I can't speak for the developers of the project, but I bet some of them think the name sucks, too. And, I think, what most of us can agree on is that even though the name is terrible, it's an awesome Open Source project. Can we focus on what the latest 3.0 release will bring us instead of every other comment being, "The name sucks!"?

With all of this said, THE NAME SUCKS! There! I got it out of my system. Now, I'm off to download 3.0.

Very cool ride home last night after leaving STL BWorks here in St. Louis. Dark, chilly, and very foggy along the Mississippi River. Rather eerie.

@chris @silvermoon82 @thatjpwing Do you build sites with Hugo locally and then move them to the server? I'm seeing different ways to install Hugo on different Linux distributions. Seems I have a bit of learning to do.

@silvermoon82 @thatjpwing Yeah, this is more of a petty WP Engine and Mullenweg fight. It doesn't really have anything to do with WordPress or all of the volunteers who work on the project.

There is an "urge" in many humans to be a part of something. I'm one of those humans. Since being let go from my job, I've felt a bit lost. I'm entering the "I'm worthless" phase. Does anyone have any pointers for getting a company to look at your resume? Pointers for getting a company to look at your resume when you are as old as I am? I've been unemployed for nearly 4 months and have only had one interview (I've sent out nearly 100 resumes). I'm honestly not sure where to go from here.

My wife and I are attending a concert in the coming days so I decided to install the Ticketmaster app on my phone. Supposedly, this will make it easier to use the digital tickets. After creating the account and attempting to log into my account, the app wouldn't let me log in until I gave it permission to share my information. Guess what you can do, Ticketmaster? Yeah, fuck right off! Just can't put my finger on why your being sued right now. 🖕

It's starting to look like I will no longer be employed over the next couple of weeks. I would love to find something in WordPress, Linux, Open Source, Security, etc. Junior roles are okay. Like I mentioned a week or two back, I just want to get back into some work that makes me happy. My current role is stressful, pays terribly, and with the possibility of losing it over the next couple of weeks, my anxiety is going through the roof. Thanks for any help you give. ❤️

Hey, folks. Someone was able to create a new account with my info on a different instance. I'm only on the Vivaldi instance. It's been taken care of and the new account should be gone.

I was trying other instances for a while because I was afraid the mozilla.social instance was going to be shut down (I still think it is, by the way), but this new instance account was not me.
