@Radical_EgoCom I did answer that question. If there aren't enough people to succeed in that counter-revolution, doesn't that stop it?

@Radical_EgoCom if socialism is truly what the people want, the counter-revolution can talk all it wants and never get enough support to succeed. Any political system that relies on suppressing alternate ideas is destined to become a police state regardless of how antithetical that is to the ideals that system espouses. One can argue this is why the United States is so rife for the pendulum swings we see in party power dynamics: roughly half the voters are told their opinions are invalid

@Radical_EgoCom trying to crush a revolution (counter- or not) by denying rights is like trying to kill a fish by drowning it.

@Radical_EgoCom OK, let me try this tack: what's a good source of non-biased news on Socialism?

@Radical_EgoCom Isn't that exactly what I said? It's what I meant. I'm inviting you to educate me on Maduro's good qualities other than party affiliation, because that's a bit like saying "I like Biden because he's a Democrat trying to minimize the impact of the Republican Party."

@Radical_EgoCom That part I know. I also know he hasn't been as popular a leader, both inside and outside that party, as Chavez. That's the part I might be missing, though, and/or unduly influenced by corporate media.

@Radical_EgoCom Yeah, various Administrations have pretty well fucked that up in our name, but I'm not a huge fan of Maduro's. Is there something about him I don't know?

@Radical_EgoCom I'm mixed, too. I've always been in favor of changing from within rather than from without, and the Democratic Party always seemed like the best option for that, but now I'm not sure if changing from within the current governmental structure, Constitution, establishment, etc is even possible.

@Radical_EgoCom I think it's pretty weird to lump Putin in with the Communists

@Radical_EgoCom and yet societies exist with conflicting beliefs, do they not?

@fu @hockey uuuhhhhh, okaaayyyy.... I preferred the #Tigers themed warm-up jerseys the #RedWings wore as a blatant cross-promotion. It was kind of fun to watch him realize how hard it is to drink from a cup wearing one of those visors. :D

@thomasfuchs that's the way jury selection is. We can also not accept any juror who we suspect will ignore jury instructions given by the court. In short, we only want jurors who will decide the case the way the Court wants them to.

@statisticsworld point taken, but I feel there's some cherry-picking of stats on this since not all countries appear on both lists.

@thomasfuchs None of our cassette decks are working anymore.... :( I don't have the same nostalgia for cassette that some do, but do have a rather large library of cassettes...

@thomasfuchs when I worked at Panavision I was surprised to find out infinity is checked on their lenses before every rental using a collimator. Even more surprised just now to learn that collimator is not based on the word column.

@thomasfuchs A small change to the guidance systems had massive implications. We will be crashing into the sun in just over 3-1/2 minutes. Thank you for flying SpaceX.
