Instead of supporting reckless developers (in a long line of other reckless fediverse developers) and rewarding their inappropiate priorities, practise mutual aid within our lil communities to encourage level participation and belonging for all that need these spaces. Become actively anti-racist if you are a silent bystander. If you witness bigotry ocouring, work with your admins and adjacent instances to act swiftly to remove and contain it.

Dansup is full of hot air when it comes to his illusions of ethics. He is untrustworthy, and appears to have the primary goal of rapidly capturing the emerging market of social media platform movers wrapped in whatever language he needs to push forward in that mission. This can be demonstrated over and over again because thankfully some of us keep reciepts.

He's betting on newcomers to the fediverse not to discover this, so here's your discovery x

Having their replies hidden in your mentions also means you can't even report them to your admin. Truely, Mastodon provides an "ethical" and "safe" social network utopia

Imagine the fediverse but if user level domain blocks worked to actually remove people you want to block from your mentions instead of just hiding them from your own personal feed so you're oblivious to what *your own thread* looks like to other people (a hot fucking mess of people you don't want anywhere near you) :thinkhappy:

This is a reminder that their boy king recently posted something openly transmisic and deleted it without explanation, apology, or any accountability what-so-ever hoping it would go away rather than be addressed. He's got a history spanning years of similar unethical behaviour which has been gaslit into obscurity.

If these nerds weren't so hell-bent on becoming the God Emperors of My Twitter Alternative and instead actually considered people's social and safety needs and their technically ability while building decentralised social media platforms the whole thing becomes a non-issue very quickly

The key thinking I take away from what he's going for on this one is that "I'm going to build my own theme park with blackjack and hookers" will fix anything in tech because these sorts of people think they know best on everything.
