It is not easy to accidently turn on Translate in Mastodon. You have to go a layer deep in settings, to set your posting language to the language your mastodon app uses.

It doesn't say it's to turn on "offering to translate" - click here.

It doesn't announce you turned on translate for your readers, your posts.

Mastodon should have an obvious button, "TURN ON Translate" or some such, in a platonic way.

I am offering coders of Mastodon insight into why I have to explain how to turn on translate so often.

Your post doesn't offer "Translate" at the bottom of your post, likely because the option was never obvious.

3 - Make post language same as interface.
