For Sars-Cov-2 there is this notion out there that all diseases become less lethal after they interact with the populace for a certain period of time, as if genetic adaptation of viruses is drawn to not harming the host species for its own survival.

This notion is false for any disease. Viruses do not naturally adapt to become "friendlier" to anything.

If you pander to those people, and you get shot by one of your own supporters (disaffected or not) - it's not the fault of the Democrats, who have been trying to get a ban on assault rifles for years.

This problem was caused by Republicans, is often carried-out by Republicans and should be fixed by Republicans -- real soon, if possible.

Registered Republicans with assault rifles are dangerous people. That should cause "bipartisan horror".

The whole point of discussing this is an exercise in futility. People simply do not have enough information to judge for themselves, and there is some movement to declassify some persuasive intelligence that Congress was briefed on.
