    A lot of job applications have this thing they call an "instant interview" where you get asked questions by a chat bot and you have to answer them. I already feel like a discarded piece of meat going through this process and the fact a human won't even talk to me doesn't make me feel any better.

    I check twitter once in a while just to see if there are any mentions of Owncast that I should be aware of. I don't follow anybody so Twitter fills my timeline with "recommended" posts.

    This is the kind of crap that Twitter thinks I should be looking at. Completely unrelatable bullshit from rich assholes.

Let's give them something new, even when it makes them slightly uncomfortable. It's hard to be different, and it's hard to change people. But it's worth it.

    I feel bad because the use cases for Owncast that are the most successful are not the use cases people want to talk about, or are even interested in. For every person doing a "Twitch-style" stream there's a ton of other streams that we'll never see because they're internal or private in some way. It's hard to drum up interest and talk about a project that's mostly used privately. Anything that's not mainstream and for mass public consumption isn't sexy.
