I feel bad because the use cases for Owncast that are the most successful are not the use cases people want to talk about, or are even interested in. For every person doing a "Twitch-style" stream there's a ton of other streams that we'll never see because they're internal or private in some way. It's hard to drum up interest and talk about a project that's mostly used privately. Anything that's not mainstream and for mass public consumption isn't sexy. -

@gabek
the time for small-group protocols is coming soon and will be more useful than the mass uses.I'll try to member to ping you when I see that start to happen...

@gabek
afterthought: mass protocols are good for outreach and meeting new people and social conversations and shit posts.Small group protocols are better for collaboration and getting stuff done.

@gabek I believe that Owncast will get its flowers. I think we’re on the cusp, socially, of a Fediverse revolution. These major media power-holders like Twitch, Twitter, Reddit, etc., are really starting to act up in ways that are harder to look past. Lots of talk about Kick, but it’s likely to go the way of Mixr. I think that people will realize that software like Owncast is the only solution. Thank you as always.
