It's a tracking / shelf platform for #TV / #drama, #movies / #films, #books, and #games

Automated import from #Goodreads work well. Just provide the required URL and voila. If it doesn't appear immediately, it is probably waiting for server workers or waiting for the server load to lower or Goodreads request limit, just be patient, only submit the same URL once! If in doubt, contact the admins instead of resubmitting.

Unfortunately, the software doesn't support import (automated, API, or manual) from Trakt, SIMKL, MyAnimeList, and other popular tracking/shelf services for TV/drama and movies/films. There is one, Douban or something, which I think is popular in the Chinese and Japanese speaking markets.

Anyway, what if the item you want to add doesn't exist in the database yet?

Worry not! There are three ways NeoDB software populates its database.

* Method 1: You can add the details yourself

* Method 2: Search the other NeoDB instances for existing similar items

* Method 3: Search for the item from TMDB, IMDB, IGDB, Steam, Goodreads, and other supported sites (no TVDB), and paste the URL to NeoDB's search box and it will import it to your instance

Method 2 is already sweet. That is the entire idea of the #SocialWeb. But Method 3 is even sweeter!

Methods 2 and 3 are the best because it's a win-win for everyone. Regular users can forget about manually re-entering new data. Seriously, who wants to manually duplicate data from one DB to another? I certainly don't! I contribute to #TMDB but I'm definitely not repeating the same effort in #TVDB.

Secondly, there's no need for instances to duplicate large databases just to ensure their site is useful for any user. Items are added as local users interact with items. It keept the db small instead of having thousands of items no one has interacted to yet (or probably not).

I'll never trust teleportation tech and transfer of consciousness to another body. There is always the question of, "is it still you you?"

Think of it this way, what if it was successful but you are also still there in your original location? Or, the consciousnesses that was supposedly transferred is also still existing in the original body?

The most logical conclusion is that the "you you" is the one in the original location or body. The person that showed up in the target location or the consciousness in the new body is not "you you".

In other words, you never really teleported or transferred consciousness!

I'd rather trust:
1. Folding space or quantum travel
2. Body regeneration or chromosome reprogramming

Because then, I know that it's still "me me".

This problem was perfectly demonstrated in the film #ThePrestige. When the "teleportation" machine did its thing, it did transfer the person in the other machine but there's a copy on the original machine.

Or, the original was left in the original machine and the one that appeared in the second machine was the copy.

So, who's "you you" in «The Prestige»? Who was original?

We will never know. Only the person who was duplicated can answer that question but of course both will answer "I'm the original!" Not because they don't want to die, rather, that's what their brain is telling them.

It's like speaking in a public town square. By doing so, anyone can react, ask questions, and share their side to the topic.

I was simply irked by the "philippine foreign policy" comment, because I'm not one to just agree with any incumbent government just because they are in control.

In addition, as I've said before, my OP was based on the available information at the time of that post and how there are accounts/online handles who are painting the narrative that India is the be-all-end-all problem, yet available information at that time says otherwise. So, those accounts seem to know something critical than, say, Reuters, as if they have access to top secret information. The craziest was, they were from the Western hemisphere. They're not Indians, Pakistanis, nor the family of the foreign tourists at that.

And as I mentioned before, I do find it excessive. The way I see it, India did not exhaust all possible options and quickly jumped to direct assault, an excessive one at that. Or, maybe they did and this was the last option.

Oh, and Reuters appear to be the only one actually reporting both sides without biases. Other press media are reporting with a narrative twist, subtlety leading the reader to a particular conclusion … which is "India is 'evil' in this escalation". 🤷🏽

Anyway, again, a public post is a public post. You and anyone else is free to reply. I'm not going to block or tell anyone to stop doing so just because we don't see eye-to-eye on a particular topic. Things can get heated up, that's part of it and again, it's a public post.

So, don't worry about it. All is well and good. You're not dealing with a troll. 🖖🏽🙇🏽

As I've said, if the situation was not between Pakistan and India, rather between China and India, the people accusing India online are they still going to accuse India then?

And how can this "Filipino foreign policy concerns" you're concerned about colour _my_ perception? What? Pro-USA and anti-PRC? Or, are you saying I'm pro-India?

1. When India tried to join the coalition against China's encroachment in South China Sea, I was strongly against it. It will only drag us with the India-China issue, and by having India in our region, it will only further escalate the issue with China (which the USA is already escalatiing).

2. I'm anti-communist-China (not the Chinese people, I'm Chinese myself, you can't be anti-self).

3. I'm anti-USA (again, the government, not the people), not because of Trump, but because of all the sins and lies the US government(s) committed against us since the colonial era.

So, what "Filipino foreign policy concerns" is colouring my perception?

Will those people calling out India as the one in the wrong in the current Pakistan-India issue do the same if this exact situation was between China-India?

The problem with today's online activism is many are swayed by the loudest narrative without actually gathering all the information first. And as the current Pakistan-India started, information available came from news sources, and yet we see "online handles" actively promoting that India is the one at fault.

But again, are these "online handles" making a loud noise truly honest? Or, are they simply going with the flow? Because again, if this exact situation was between China and India, how would these very same online activists react? Pro-China? Pro-India? How can one trust these accounts if they can't even answer that. If they truly are objective, if they truly have information no one else knows, not even the press, then surely it is easy to answer that question.

Lastly, please, let's not start claiming that South Asia geopolitics is more this and that. No region in the world is more than another when it comes to geopolitics. If we're going to play that game, ASEAN is very diverse.

Confusing? CJK is complicated and confusing. China-Vietnam stems all the way back before the colonial era. The entire Pacific Asian region is deeply rooted in geopolitics since before the colonial era, and those deep issues are still affecting es to this day. Even World War 2 is very confusing for many because there were so many moving pieces. Japan was painted by the Allies as "evil" but once information started to come to light on how things actually unfolded, Japan was not "evil" at all, it was a fabrication of the Allies (most especially the US).

And let's not forget the sins the British Empire and other European nations committed against China. Who actually supplied opium to the Chinese, and how Hong Kong fell to British control.

There are also internal and cross-border issues. The Khmers. The Thais. Singaporeans. Indonesians. The Khmer-Thai issues. The Thai-Viet issues. There's also the Sabah issue between Malaysia and the Philippines (actually it includes Indonesia too but few are aware of that). The "comfort women", that to this day can make or break deals and agreements.

I can go on and on.

Should I say that the Pacific Asian region is more complex, complicated, confusing, diverse, than the South Asian region, or any other region? Of course, NO. Each region is unique. The geopolitical issues in each region developed differently from each other.

No region's geopolitics is "more" than any other. It only appears that way because a person is not aware of the complexity of a region's geopolitics and how far back in time it actually started.

I refuse to play that game.

If you think about it, #scams are a form of business. They don't just start a scam. They study the population. They conduct research and tests. They train people. The hold meetingtos to improve their processes and craft. They probably have documentations too!

Just like any other businesses.

For example. If you want to start scamming Filipinos in the Philippines, you don't want to start a housing scam or a home renovation scam. You also don't want to start a credit card, debit card, bank account, scam/phishing. Not going to work. Oh sure, maybe you'll be able to scam a hundred or so, and that's a very generous figure. Like any other business, you don't start a scamming business that won't produce good and sustainable results.

Yet, home renovation scams are popular in Japan. Card and bank account phishing scams are common in South Korea.

Late road tolls payment is a thing in the US of A.

Are you familiar with "genius and pschopathy are two sides of the same coin"? Yeah, "businesses and scams are two sides of the same coin" too. 😝

And like with some genius and psychopathy folks where they successfully use both sides of the coin, there are also folks who are experts in running a legitimate scamming business, or legitimate businesses scamming people.

They're not easy to spot. They probably hold a Masters Degree in Scamming, I mean, Masters Degree in Business Administration.

And most especially with №4, I can't help but wonder, what if the murder of foreign tourists on India's side of the border weri traced to have come from China and the incident happened on the China-India border?

After a few weeks, whatever negootiation happened behind-the-scenes, it came down to India attacking the terrorist sites in China's side of the border, and China retaliated. Would the №4 still call India the aggressor? Or, side with them because it's China and everything China is supposedly "evil"?

@cendawanita And the bottomline is, there isn't enough information, so why is it things reached №4 already? From credible and unbias news sources, they are reporting both sides.

And yes, of course Pakistan is not responsible. Terrorist groups are the enemies of the State their hideouts are located. We don't know if India tried to work with Pakistan, through official and back channels. We don't know if India warned them that they will strike what they believed to be the location of those terrorists, and if those intel were also provided by Pakistan.

It could very well be that Pakistan tried to resolve it but failed, and India had enough of the delays. Maybe India requested to have their special forces take out those terrorists, but understandably Pakistan refused.

In the end, India chose an excessive action. To hit the known location of the terrorists. And Pakistan considered it an act of war (obviously). But what's №4 doing? Do they know something the press is not reporting hence the one-sided judgement?

Thunderstorm in the middle of the Summer season! Hooray!

But it only lasted 10 minutes. I guess it's not yet the start of the thunderstorm season.

The Vatican Conclave has started. Are most Cardinals going to choose the Filipino Cardinal Tagle?

If they do, it means they want to go back to their roots.

Philippine Roman Catholicism is still pretty much the same as it was back in the Spanish colonial era, after all, they occupied the archipelago for 300 years! It is also known as the only country still deeply rooted in the "old"/"past" Roman Catholicsm.

If you live here in the #Philippines, the Catholic Bishops' Conference of the Philippines ("CBCP") is very active in the political arena. They actively oppose same-sex marriage and anything LGBTQ related. They actively block anything related to abortion and divorce. And a lot of other sensitive and/or big topics/issues.

But, who knows?

If Cardinal Tagle becomes the next Pope, his era will be very interesting. Is he going to restore the traditions of Roman Catholicism (which is what the CBCP is probably going to expect) or will he bring in changes to Philippine Roman Catholicism (especially since he's a friend to LGBTQ people)?

The way I understood it:

1. terrorist groups in Pakistan killed civilians in the India-controlled side of the border

2. India retaliated by hitting known sites of those terrorists

3. Pakistan hit back because they saw it as an act of war

4. Keyboard warriors are blaming India for starting a war
