We went out again with the telescope and we saw Saturn, Jupiter, and parts of the Milky Way. Here are some photos - astonishing that they are made with a phone (Pixel 4A 4G).

The @yunohost package for Friendica has not been updated in many months github.com/YunoHost-Apps/frien… - we are trying to figure out but personally I am lost. If anyone can please help out? I think it is a must to give some love to Friendica and fix the update issue.
If @heluecht @tobias or @hypolite have any time to quickly look why it fails, could be awesome 😁 - but if you are busy totally understood.

In any case we must find a way to update the package. I pinged some friends, let's see 😁
Soon I will do a presentation in Prague about our TROM project and a good part of the presentation is about the Fediverse and Friendica, so I'd like our instance to be up to date of course, and showcase to people a new social network basically. Any help is also a sort of help to push more people to migrate from FB and the like, to Friendica and the fediverse overall.

@rotfarm I agree. Unfortunately there aren't many alternatives. I use Firefox for many years now, but except that, what are other options that are not Chromium dependent or dependent on Firefox who receives a lot of money from Google? -

Basically now you can use other servers to do the transcoding, even your own local machine. This is insane! So amazing! I will have a deeper look into it.
Towards the end of this year, the version 6 will bring password protect option for videos, the ability to see thumbnails when hovering the playback bar, chapters, or the ability to replace a video with a new version!
This is how a video platform should be run. Kudos to this motherfuckers! They are the heroes of our society, together with the ones who volunteer themselves to make this world (offline or online) a bit better! We should force this society to provide humans with at least their basic needs as trade-free so that we can grow more of these projects. You need a fertile soil in order to grow stuff from it. -

Bloody hell I managed to replace ALL trailers for www.videoneat.com with our Peertube links and make them open in a proper popup. I thought it would take me months, but took me days. I did work many hours a day to do it. Now it is done. Awesome!

How non-recommended is to downgrade from a dev version of friendica to a stable one? The @yunohost developers pushed an update recently to the Friendica package and by mistake they labeled it as stable but the update was taken from the dev branch. So people updated to the dev branch...now they are trying to push a fix and in the fix to force the instances that upgraded to the dev, to revert back to stable.
Can you please tell me if this is a good idea? I want to make them aware if not. Thanks! -

I wish Manyverse would take off - www.manyver.se/ - 100% decentralized social network based on scuttlebutt.
After I release TROM II I will try, little by little, to fully migrate to these decentralized platforms like Scuttlebutt and Tox for messaging. We really need that and not servers and centralization.
The Fediverse and Matrix, are great for now. But they are what I like to call as decentralized centralization. Several servers instead of 1. And only a few have most of the users, thus have immense control over the entire network. -

I'm not used to do this, but with the large influx of new users and node admins recently coming from #Twitter, our small team is now behind the curve for handling support requests, bug reports and bring about much-needed features.
The project is built on a #PHP/#MySQL platform, but we also need people to be able to assist others just using the software to give developers some space.

Great amount of wok on TROMjaro these days. @esh worked like nuts! Then @roko came to help. Both fantastic creatures. Our scripts look way better now. Before we had to run them every few seconds (bad), now we trigger them based on relevant changes of the system. This result in instant actions.
So, let me repeat, we are able to sync the system's theme, icon pack, and font, across GTK, GTK + LIbadwaita, Qt, QT5, QT6, and Flatpaks (the ones that support it). This is USABILITY, not simply fancy shit. And it works. Instantly. Makes the desktop fuckin' sane.
So bloody happy with TROMjaro. It is unfortunate that so few people know about it...but well...we will try to make it more visible...what can we do!? ? -
