    I was watching a video last night detailing a partially written LOTR sequel Tolkien worked on before he died. The general idea was that it was like 200 years later and almost everyone moved on, forgot to fear and hate the enemy. Very wise concept but not surprising coming from that kind of genius.

    I don't hate the guy. I just don't understand forcing him so hard on the player. They could have just as easily made two campaigns with some overlap where you can start a Dante and never have to play as anyone else. It's mind boggling.

    About half way through DMC5 and it's pretty good but the withholding of Dante just to piss off the fans is annoying. Nobody wants to be Nero or V. They could be worse but it's just insulting to force players to be everybody but the series hero. Weird choice and if there's a DMC6, they really need to stop this nonsense and just make him playable from the start.

    I do get that it's different but it's not egregious IMO. Making Dante a delinquent punk rocker in his youth is a bit lame but it was the worst thing I saw. Vergil was neat, starting as an almost rich boy hands-off mindset and then the DLC making him go full psycho maniac, thought that was neat. What am I missing?

    Played through the Devil May Cry reboot over the last few days and it was awesome. Not a perfect game by any means but the combat was fantastic. I'm not even sure why they decided to make it non-canon to the original series because it could easily fit in as DMC0 with the timeline of events. All they needed to do was change Mundus to some other villain but whatever. Surprisingly good game.
