#AuroraBorealis visible from #LasVegas? Yes indeed! Okay I may have cheated a little by driving an hour north for darker skies free of traffic but it was totally worth it. Can't wait to catch the #NorthernLights again from further north - it must be an amazing sight.
@egalitaire@TheGreatLlama@Radical_EgoCom good point about the wealth transfer - it is something the Right never talk about or want to recognize. And that wealth transfer mostly impacts the unwealthy majority who can ill afford it.
You cite 4x on admin vs peers and I've seen 2x overall which means there's things we spend less on. Not because it is cheaper, more likely because many have insurance that does not or will not pay for what they need. Which would explain our worse health outcomes.
@lisamelton@olav I think I'm too much in fear of the grammar police...
But it would be nice if you could avoid the notification spam for trivial changes. Then again sometimes trivial by word count can be significant in terms of meaning.
I try really hard to review my posts after the first like or boost so I can minimize the damage.
@br00t4c the entire police system of training officers on how to deal with situations like this is completely broken and it is criminally negligent that they don't fix this.
They should look to police training in countries where officers aren't routinely armed. Instead we have this...
Yet again trickle down economics have been debunked. Every time Republicans bring this up they should be laughed out of town. Unfortunately interviewers never seem educated enough or bold enough to shut the shit down when it is mentioned. Biden should be doing Presidential addresses talking about it until it's in the zeitgeist and even Trumpers know it even if they didn't want to admit it.
This is really no surprise. I tried out the new UI via a beta test and did not like it at all. Folk on Reddit who tried the beta UI also resoundingly did not like it, but Garmin rolled it out essentially unchanged as best I can tell.
If you look into the history of Tesla and SpaceX you'll realize Musk would have gone broke years ago without government money.
I've never met a libertarian who didn't decry government subsidies as socialism, encouraging freeloaders, and feeding the nanny State. But take away their own subsidies and they scream bloody murder like a baby pulled from its mother's teat.
@gnutelephony@aborigen the same applies to TV and movies. Two people can beat the crap out of each other until death, or saw people alive until dead. But show a naked body or a penis or vagina getting pleasured and that's an X rating and content almost no one will see.
My company is asking all the software developers to use AI assistants for our coding. So I decided to give CatGPT a try. My keystroke count has gone through the roof!
Shots fired as Twitter (aka X) puts Meta on notice over the launch of Threads. It claims it has hired Twitter employees and has "serious concerns" about intellectual property theft.
That feels a bit rich given Elon's statements that the Twitter software was garbage and had to be rewritten from scratch.
I do feel like an increasing number of people are finally getting it. And the alternative doesn't necessarily have to answer to the name socialism, although it might have "social" in its name. Most important is the government must answer to we the people and not the thousands of corporate lobbyists who are corrupting it now.
