#question of the day: I have the tasty blood type according to a wide variety of #insects / #bugs including #mosquitoes. I'd like to spend more time #outdoors but am often dissuaded by their pestering buzz (which annoys me almost as much as their bite).

What do you use to keep the #pests at bay? And what about keeping an area rather than just a person safe from these little carnivores?

there are not enough hours in the day for #reading. I've spent the last three hours reading and there is so much more I want to know. 😭 😂

It's interesting bc I've been part of orgs with lots of meetings but also orgs that try to avoid meetings like the plague - e.g., everything should be a wiki doc, JIRA issue, email, etc.

I preferred tthe latter env more but also wondered if this resulted in #neurodivergent individuals strong-arming neurotypicals into their preferred form of communication (with historically, neurodivergents being strong-armed)

And if so where one finds a fair balance. ?

You're right, there aren't a ton of options to choose from. Underwater (2020) was decent. From back in the day, Anaconda (1997) and Deep Rising (1998).

Honestly some of the films are faint memories from childhood that if I rewatched I'd probably find much too corny. I liked Gorgo (1961), 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea (various), trying to think of others...I'll take suggestions :)

@evan - in interview w/tnw you mentioned wanting to see #mastodon implement a standard client api, curious if you know if this might happen?

If not, curious if anyone is building an add-on for mastodon that would translate mastodon's custom api into the standard api?
