One of the things I've always kept foremost in my mind about India (I've been coming here for over 30 years, made 6 visits last year) is that I know nothing. A foreigner can do things here, but only by keeping a sense of humility and a desire to learn.

@peterhoneyman @mattblaze that’s about the price point for that size. I’ve been buying “solid state packs” which are 8 ssd’s ganged up in a container that slides into one/third of a 2u chassis. I started with 8tb ssds like the Oyen, am now doing 16tb. For longevity it is important that the ssd be powered up and “spun” every 6 months or so. Can’t just throw it in a cupboard and let it sit.

@mattblaze @peterhoneyman it is expensive, but has been a game changer for me. With 16tb units, I can put .5 petabyte in a 2u chassis and, more importantly, throw three SSPs in a suitcase and bring them with me. I’m using SATA ssds, but if I wanted to move up to NVME, I could do 1 pb using 32 tbyte units. $25k buys me a 128tb pack. This is me with 3 packs.
