I was side chatting re etiquette/culture using mens vs ladies washrooms, am now wondering if they are different spaces socially.

Like do the stalls in the women's and the liminal space of the sinks mean for a more relaxed and social space (having a bit o privacy for your business). They are a kind of sanctuary space of solidarity. Is my personal take on the vibe.

What's the vibe/culture in the mens?

PSA for allies:

When you inadvertently put your foot in it and somebody tells you:

the only, I repeat, ONLY appropriate reply is:

"Whoops, I am so sorry I inadvertently hurt you. I learned a thing and will be a better human moving forward."

That's it. Period.

Also, I love my roommates.
After some troubleshooting texts I tell them I am likely going non-verbal for a bit, and they just roll with that. 💖

And especially love the roommate who just "took care of" the one that was setting off the rest of the house in ways I can only imagine include concrete boots and a deep river. 😃

OMFG the smoke alarm has been malfunctioning and randomly going off and I think I may loose my fucking mind the noise and flashing lights hurts my brain so much.

Like why can't we have alarms that very calmly say:
"Hey, ya know things aren't super safe right now, let's leave the house."
in something akin to a smooth late night jazz DJ voice.

...also after false alarms someone is dispatched to spoon you and stroke your hair.

Can I ask a favour of anybody with more A/V knowledge and/or patience to explore if it is possible to lower the volume on the power up/down BwooooOP/BWOooo noise on this kind of Bluetooth speaker? (my cog is still pretty low)
It seems to be the same regardless of what I am using for listening volume. And when my brain hurts and I am comforting it with gentle music I find the ON/OFF noise very ouchie.

☝️ related to this article, I have been having a lot of side chats with folks re loneliness and with an aim to help people connect as well as help them create some agency, I wondered about some kind of "@lonelinessCorps" group where people could reach out when they are lonely and chat (peer support), but also share resources and ideas for more local or niche specific projects (agency), start building the infrastructure to ameliorate the isolation.

1) can someone explain mastondon groups to me? How are they are set up, do they need to be monitored? I see some really effective ones going, but also some that don't take off.

2) Does anybody want to take this ball and run with it? I don't have the chuff to lead on this one, but can hopefully help connect the right pieces and generally uplift this.

3) Also, pls comment with any groups or tags any of you are finding useful when yer lonely, let's start by sharing some resources!

I'm seeing folks casting about trying to build their support systems, but not always clicking. Like the structures aren't there yet, lots of people are tooting out to crickets.

So this is a general call out pls share:

1) active tags (or groups) that are helping you connect and be uplifted

2) gaps or struggles ie "I can't find a tag/group for [ ]

3) any tags/groups you are trying to launch

Let's create and consolidate and enliven the tags we need.

It really helps if you don't boost the stuff that doesn't have those courtesies.
