Seeing multiple people from multiple places talking about #Wednesday, #Crows, and #Odin so I'm going to go ahead and plug this nice little series of blog posts from @Cat_LeFey. I really appreciated their modern interpretation of Odin's #LifeAdvice and it definitely made it more approachable for me than any other resource I've come across talking about #Norse #mythology.

Any other witches out there keep an EDC juUuuuust in case you accidentally fall through a fae portal for real next time? 😅

Some examples I've tried that are close:
- Dwarf Fortress but the user interfaces unpleasant
- I've set up Minecraft with lots of villager and NPC mods which might be an option
- Rim World on peaceful mode with some cozy mods
- simulation based games, typically with less narrative structure

Like, I'd like to be able to kind of just explore and wander around without having to worry about a grind too much either which kind of rules out stardew Valley

instead of giving more money to Eugean and an unresponsive mastodev team, donate to your local instance. Give a few dollars to an alternative AP developer like #GoToSocial. take an interest in your ecosystem, not the consumerism pomp and distraction

Everybody should be reading this guide and trying to take some of the advice into your day-to-day life. It's a lot, it's scary sometimes, and it's definitely a change that is not always easy, but for not just your safety, but the safety of people that interact with you at all, it will be necessary

#WestNile virus and other #mosquito borne diseases are on a sharp rise here in the US. We have had messaging from local cities for decades to turn over bins and wheelbarrows where mosquitoes breed. The author even identifies mosquito larve in their own setup.

Yes, making #habitats for species is Good. This is Not that, this is feel good greenwashing that creates breeding ground for mosquitoes. Running water to keep bodies of water from becoming stagnant is how to make these habits that won't foster disease. A fountain, something with a pump that can circulate and aerated water is what you need, and they cost more which is why not every one has a water feature.

I really wish I had better activity data for the server. The only way, even as an Admin, to see what's getting attention is to check our own Trending page and seeing spikes in the interaction graph. That's it, I won't know if somethings going viral and may be in need of more moderation attention in the comments or not 🙄
