Worth noting: while Wordpress is removing the ability to post links to Twitter from Wordpress.com automatically, it is planning to add the ability to automatically post to Mastodon.

This is actually important requirement for brands to get on board with Mastodon – you need secure multi-user access to an account when managing brands.

Does anyone know a Federated app (one that uses ActivityPub) that allows for multi-user access to a single profile? For a contra-example, if I use Mastodon to create a profile for an organization, I can only create one account and one password. Sure I could share that password with other org leaders, but if one person changes the password, the others are locked out. So I need an app that can create a multi-user profile and that people can access with their own username and password and give "admin" rights to multiple people, less privileged account rights to others, etc. Then folks could post to that one account. Any ideas? #Fediverse #ActivityPub #Mastodon

The hilarious thing is that even this won’t push some of the writers involved away from #Twitter.

Every large brand audience development lead is currently working on a spreadsheet telling them the value of the traffic generated by #Twitter and finding it’s less than $1000 a month, while every brand legal team is creating a template letter to send to Twitter demanding takedown of accounts impersonating their trade marks. Once more, #Musk doesn’t have a clue.

For an idea of the scale - or rather lack of scale – of traffic you get from #Twitter, well, read this tweet. He’s not joking about the “five hits”.

Sad to say it, but this is true for *every* category of application I have come across. Good quality Android apps tend to be OK, but few. In the same category, you will always find more and better apps on iOS. Task managers is a great example, too. Android has... erm... Todoist, I guess. iOS has Todoist and Things and Omnifocus and half a dozen other really great options.

Spending a few hours perusing the state of the art in Android Mastodon clients gives me the distinct impression that Android is forever stuck in its Window 3.x era of UI polish and design. It’s rough.

I usually agree with Florian but this is daft. The idea that a feature which makes ad trackers request permission first on apps is just good for Apple and that phone networks should be allowed to form a cartel to let them violate privacy with no consent is just stupid.

Reasons journalists shouldn't be on #Twitter, part 2322:

“Please give Bari full access to everything at Twitter,” #Musk wrote to a subordinate in a Signal message viewed by The Washington Post. “No limits at all.”

Pro-tip for anyone getting annoyed or angry about the QT debate: set a 24 hour filter on “QT” and “RT”. You can use filters to mute-out most topics, if you find you’re getting angry/stressed about it. Filters will catch most of it and give you a bit of a time out. And there is nothing wrong with that. #mastodontips

@danhugo @stavvers Part of the problem with journalism (and I have been one for nearly 28 years, gulp) is that it can be a huge, constant ego massage. Very few people are unsusceptible to that. The moment that you start thinking "don't they know who I am?" and thinking the world revolves around you you really need to take a long break from it.

Nearly caught myself posting about how when I was a kid in this weather you needed to take a kettle of boiled water to the toilet to get rid of the ice because WE HAD AN OUTDOOR LOO and then remembered it makes me sound like something from the stone age.

And then I posted it anyway.
