    Funny.

Well, she ran unopposed in the 2024 primary, she's popular on the left, and MA is a very blue state, so the trajectory is for victory in 2030 as well. It's certainly a much safer bet than "investing" in crypto.

(That said, I was a fan of Warren before her presidential run, but I've been very disappointed by her work in the 2020 - 2024 timespan, so I wish she faced a great Democratic challenger.)

"A judge agreed Friday to postpone Trump’s sentencing in his hush money case until after the November election...

"Manhattan Judge Juan M. Merchan, who is also weighing a defense request to overturn the verdict on immunity grounds, delayed Trump’s sentencing until Nov. 26, three weeks after the final votes are cast in the presidential election.

"..the #election will be decided without voters knowing if the Republican nominee is going to jail."

"Since the start of the pandemic, fewer people are walking to get around. The 100 most populated metro areas in the U.S. saw a decline in #walking of at least 20% between 2019 and 2022, according to a recent report. But even with this decline, #pedestrian deaths have skyrocketed to the highest they’ve been in over 40 years."

Reasons include working from home, getting packages and food delivered, and fear of getting hit and killed.

Ok. More expansive definition of capitalism than most I've seen (especially by including criminal activity).

Gets harder for me to think of places/times/things that haven't been dominated by capitalism, by that definition. Are there any you like to point to?

E.g. in Communist Russia, much of the economy ran on the black market, so maybe that was capitalism by your definition too?

Turns out all the stories about a rise in #retail theft were #misinformation intentionally sowed by a retail #lobbying firm whose own data showed it wasn’t true + retail CEOs.

“I heard a #Walgreens executive walk back the company’s claims that shoplifting had gotten out of hand..Walgreens tried to use shoplifting as the reason behind their decision to close 5 stores in San Francisco in 2021..we know that these stores were planned closures"

In the US, 85+% of the explanation for that is racism. Anything that helps the lower class could help a black person, so the "working class conservative" wants it eliminated, as it could upset the racial caste system that keeps them, in their minds, above black people.

If you need evidence, just look to the history of US domestic policy the last ~80 years. (E.g. what happened with Johnson's Great Society, https://www.goodreads.com/en/book/show/26595572-american-maelstrom)
