I live a privileged life. I’m busy with work and teenaged children. I spend a lot of my down time on my smartphone, mindlessly. This afternoon I’m going to a cabin at the local Buddhist centre. (I’m not Buddhist, but that isn’t relevant.) I’ll be there for about 20 hours, by myself, with some strangers around, without a smartphone, without responsibilities. I’m looking forward to it and I’m also low-key anxious. #mindfulness #Chenrezig #retreat

@skyfaller @evan I can’t believe that I hadn’t thought of this. (But ignorance truly is bliss.) I think I’ll continue to imagine that the electricity from renewable sources that I pay extra for is lovingly delivered to my home by green elves.

@evan An observation, not necessarily a criticism: three items have generic names; one has a brand name.

@evan Or you could make it clearer that it isn’t necessarily your own opinion. E.g. using quotation marks, or a phrase like “Some people say that…”

@dajb @jwildeboer Jan, you were one of the first people I followed here. I had forgotten about your position on CWS, although the pinned post is familiar now that I’ve re-read it. I think an important thing to note is that you (generally? always?) post stuff that doesn’t really need a CW.
