    Question for mastodon admins....

I'm currently running my single-user instance in Docker. I'm about to move it to a new server, and am wondering whether to stick with Docker to host it or do a more conventional install, probably in an LXC.

The Docker approach doesn't seem to simplify things like it does with some other apps I run. This would be a good opportunity to switch if I were going to.

@Ric ordinarily I 100% agree. Everything else that I host is managed with Docker Compose. But Mastodon feels a little clunky in its Docker implementation sometimes. And this'll be running on pretty much a dedicated host (LXC) anyway so not concerned about contamination. Good to know you're happy with it though. I must say, it's been running solid for 2 years for me, so I don't have specific concerns.

@Ric I would actually be very interested in that, yes! I've kept mine totally vanilla because it is a little clunky to customize. Interested to see how you've solved it.

@sand my dad has been saying the same thing for over 20 years. It would be very cool.

@eaton awesome, that's great to hear!

The website I'm rebuilding is this one - it's really pretty simple: https://www.mattknight.io/

At the moment, that site is wired up to Ghost as a headless CMS but I've already made the decision to ditch that and just go for Markdown files on disk. For the capabilities I need, that's significantly simpler and faster.

Started rebuilding my personal blog site in #eleventy and so far I really like it. I have a lot of experience with #nextjs and have nothing against it, but for a simple site like this, Eleventy seems like a great fit.

Any tips from experienced Eleventy folk out there?
