Started rebuilding my personal blog site in #eleventy and so far I really like it. I have a lot of experience with #nextjs and have nothing against it, but for a simple site like this, Eleventy seems like a great fit.

Any tips from experienced Eleventy folk out there?

@matt congrats! I’ve been a huge 11ty fan for a while, really love it. Depending on how complex your setup is (particularly if you’re pulling in stuff from. APIs or a headless CMS and trying to treat them in the same way as “normal” file based posts and pages) the data cascade can get complicated. Other than that, it’s been a dream!

@matt makes sense — if I weren’t set on adding so many divergent external data sources to my site I’d do the same!

@eaton awesome, that's great to hear!

The website I'm rebuilding is this one - it's really pretty simple: https://www.mattknight.io/

At the moment, that site is wired up to Ghost as a headless CMS but I've already made the decision to ditch that and just go for Markdown files on disk. For the capabilities I need, that's significantly simpler and faster.
