Do you want to end this year with big bangs?
Use your money for fireworks on #OSS instead. Trust me, it will have a much bigger effect. ;-)

Need a great #netdata alternative now that they move away from their #opensource idealogy?
Try https://github.com/henrygd/beszel. It's quite new but it gives a lot of info on a quick glance.
Now that our american friends start to calm down we can maybe refocus our attention on things that are great for everybody.
Spread #foss, #righttorepair and #SelfHosting into your environment.
Take care of your loved/fellow ones and be kind and gentle.
Start the change with yourself. Everything else will follow naturally.
And last but not least: Do not give up hope. You are strong. You make a difference. Just don't give up before seeing the results.
@aral @starlabssystems are you saying the Firmware update did not fix the issues?
Edit:
Or is this a regression with 24/08?
Wait, someone made an Open Source iPod? That's so cool!

That person is actually @jacqueline
OMG. I finally fixed my bluetooth audio issues I had on linux.
I wasn't able to connect my bluetooth headset via a2dp.
What was required was for me to edit my bluetooth/main.conf to include these 2 lines:
MultiProfile = multiple
Disable = Socket
Pretty sure this problem took me around 10 hours to solve in total. Spent many evenings tinkering around with it. :/
Good luck! Maybe not a big chance, but better than giving up I guess!
Yesterday I wrote a small #shell script to rename a file with its modified date with auto cleanup for files with that pattern older than 30 days and set up a #cronjob for services which dont support dynamic log locations.
This way my 260MB #nginx file will never become that big again and I can open the logfiles again.
A FUSE filesystem and dungeon crawling adventure game engine? What's this madness?
that's true! I see telecompanies having a hard time trying to get people into their "smart home" tech for years and it's still a slow market until today (at least here).
Do you not find it sad to see and understand that this is being pushed and does not come out from pure innovation and need?
In China they force you to take DNA tests and surveil you, the rest of the world sells it to you as "convience" and "good to know".
I am not sure why so many people are not understanding this. Smart things are not there for you, they are smart to control the population.
If you use smart devices, make sure to read on they work and how to stop them from working against you.
In many cases, it's even impossible to stop them from listening to your everday word.

Also, whoever uses security cameras which are automatically connected to the internet should probably rethink his values. Remember the quote about Privacy and Convinience?
I wish people could just stop with their obsession with internet connected smart devices. Barely anybody actually understands the implications of plastering a ton of devices with cheap hardware and even crappier firmware over all your belongings. [2/2]
No, it's not Githubs fault but the repo owners.
This is something the owner set up.
I dont like MS and Github as well, but there is no reason to make things up.
Here is a crazy idea for all those phone makers out there:
Make it repairable, last long and stop surveiling us at each and every step.
What we want is freedom and choice, not 10% faster cpu, 15% more battery, 5% slimmer and 20% less features with every release.
Oh and while we're at it, maybe support it for more than 2 years because... we actually still have an environment that we can save?
Sincerly
Everyone.
@hund if only @lutris had an account here... oh wait, they do! :D
You probably want to upload your error somewhere or elaborate what is wrong before asking for help.
Or maybe you're just venting? Then... good luck!
maybe tell us what you do exactly, what happened and what did you expect to happen?
Which one are you?
@joel @kev SSG are a blessing, in fact my blog uses a 50LOC shell script to generate the posts from markdown.
I think the thing most people against SSGs are missing is that its very dynamic.
You can write markdown content in a shell or use your favorite GUI editor on the desktop, laptop or even phone!
This can be synced in several ways to your server (or something like a public CI/CD) where its built and pushed.
Bottom line: Yes, if you have no tech skills, this is a bad idea.
I like Open Source, Void Linux, the CLI, privacy, nature and music of all kinds
