@sun@shitposter.world@bonifartius@qoto.org Did owning Twitter really make a differenceI definitely think it moved the needle. Think of it as a super massive, super targeted ad spend. All it needed to do was make sure those likely to vote for Trump did.
Why would journalists go to Fedi if all it meant was that they could only be heard by the servers the admins liked? Mass defederations and fostering a uptight atmosphere chased the opportunities away. FediBlock gave Musk all the power he needed. You can't just want decentralized social media to work, you have to operate in a way that can actually allow it to thrive.
Even if you think he's usually full of shit, this is a pretty good point. Those with large sums of wealth can manufacture self-organizing psyops by shifting around various arbitrary limitations. Good to keep in mind while considering the origin of much of today's "chaos".
we allowed anti-vaxxers to dictate public safety measures and make their choice our choice. This is such a disturbing inversion of reality. What did "anti-vaxxers" do other than eventually be 'permitted' to participate in public life after being designated as second-class citizens in many countries? If our governments hadn’t caved, we could’ve stopped covid before all the mutations. It's funny how the issue isn't even masking or particular reforms. The frustration is that the totalitarian 'emergency' fascism couldn't be maintained (entirely in some places) or indefinitely.
These people genuinely scare me. People underestimate how little it would take for them to push for other obscene trespasses. Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscienceC.S. @collectifission@greennuclear.online Given that a majority of 'AI products" aren't economically viable, what are the risks that these projects will fail and be abandoned? I'm all for plentiful green energy, but this seems like a high opportunity cost for little gain.
☢️ Nuclear #Libertarian ✝️?? I’m a geek who is passionate about decentralizing power into the hands of the people.Very much an idealist and still have much to learn.Banner image by: Vyzziehttps://linktr.ee/vyzzieeCheck out @lsn#Canada #Freedom #Linux #Tech
