The AltText box in @IceCubesApp is glorious

It allows for full translation into any of the languages (apple?) translate provides, as well as copying the original and translated text.

Exceptionally good user experience.

Having the photos up higher is better, and less emphasis on follow counts is good too.

@mattly the OSS app @IceCubesApp does exactly this, but your point still stands — the Mastodon API does need to evolve to make certain features more trivial to implement.

@dansup many of these different social media’s (microblogs, personal photoblogs, personal video shares) have different circle of friends, acquaintances, random people you’d want to share them with.

One way to enable that is separate (external) account names, an other could be what (I think) Google+ did with its circles & what Insta kinda does with “close friends”.

I don’t know the best solution, but just wanted to add my thinking on the topic.
