I don't recommend doing a whole one, but doing a little toy one is actually a cool kind of project that teaches about parsing something complex.

I'm actually doing something different right now, inspired by how Memoji might be put together.

Like this could be:

Today in “men explain technical concepts to women who have more specific and deeper knowledge”:

* I was whinging about a page that required Chrome (which is, by definition, NotAFreakingWebPage because SomeRandomBullshit piped to port 443 does not a web page make).

* I was told that Chrome and Safari shared an underlying library.

Which: I was on the Safari team for 5-1/2 years, including the time when Google forked from WebKit, which was in 2013.

It's always a good idea to have various tools (seat belt cuttter, glass hammer) in case bad things happen, regardless of the model of car. But honestly, there should be a clear way to escape that's available in an emergency.

(I'm reminded of the people who try to escape flooding via an attic, not realizing there's no egress in most attics and usually no tools for creating an egress.)

I will admit to not reading the entire thing, though.

If The Doors Wrote Enter Sandman

Two tiny criticisms:

1. Opening is ~5 bpm slow for The Doors.
2. There needed to be a short keyboard solo.

Otherwise, really great adaptation with minimal musical changes.

Every once in a while, a guy presses me about my experience as a woman in tech, expecting something rosy.

I say: "Imagine that all your same-gender peers for the first 15 years of your career…were not there. That was my experience."

You'd be astonished at the pushback I get because it is just so hard for them to conceptualize so many people in their career just vanishing.

That's how it is for women and many people of color in tech.

@mattly @jason This was the one game pair where I, for the first time ever, picked the more popular of the pair. I actually have a complete dex in both scarlet and violet now, but haven’t completed the expansions yet.

@mattly The Pokémon franchise depends on pairs of games that have similar Pokémon (but different) in each game to encourage trading between the 2. More people bought Violet, so picking Scarlet will make trades easier. You can get all the monsters no matter which game you have, and the plot is the same.
