Chris Petrilli (petrillic@hachyderm.io)'s status on Friday, 01-Mar-2024 16:02:16 JST Chris Petrilli Rumor but from a source… Broadcom is telling all H1B engineers in VMWare that they have to either move “home” or be laid off without severance. Effective nearly immediately.
Pure cruelty.

Chris Petrilli (petrillic@hachyderm.io)'s status on Sunday, 28-Jan-2024 11:27:17 JST Chris Petrilli As someone who was quite involved in UNIX and BSD in the early and mid 1990s, it's really exhausting watching the massive Linux-washing that goes on about how "Linux was the first open source OS".
It wasn't even the first from northern Europe.

Chris Petrilli (petrillic@hachyderm.io)'s status on Saturday, 23-Dec-2023 03:12:56 JST Chris Petrilli Everytime someone says "I voted 3rd party" at the national level in the US, I know they're delusional and either completely ignorant of how the system is structured, or malicious in a way that's really only possible with enormous privilege.
No third-party candidate will ever win at the national level. Ever. Yes, the system sucks, so work on fixing the system, and practice harm minimization until then.
