It's entirely possible that there's a plot here that's been lost in the truly appalling dubbing but we somehow doubt it.

If you were on drugs while watching this film then it wouldn't make any more or less sense, but you would at least be on drugs.

We're in Le Havre today, resting our feet in a craft ale bar (surprise!) after walking around for several hours with no firm plans. We've seen some very nice sights and great architecture but none nicer than the Église Saint-Joseph designed by the mentor of Le Corbusier, Auguste Perret. It is absolutely incredible and really difficult to describe, sorry.

Quick check-in from #Inverness which, as you can see, is utterly gorgeous. Sometimes you get a feel for a place and this city really appealed to me. We did the Ness Walk, looked around the museum, did some shopping, and yes, we had local beers in a fantastic pub.

Back to Invergordon now and our ship, and some all-important getting ready for #Eurovision which they will be showing on board.

When you started drinking in the afternoon and are convinced it's now about three in the morning but it hasn't reached midnight yet and you're torn between horrified that's a lot of extra drinking still to come and excited that's a lot of extra drinking still to come.

A dip into the #travel archive from on this day eight years ago. On that particular February 29th we'd just arrived in #BuenosAires and been escorted to the ship we'd be spending the next few weeks on, and as we were on an overnight flight we were aboard early, before most other passengers had arrived in #Argentina, having the ship mostly to ourselves. We would spend the following day exploring Buenos Aires and it was an incredible city.

We've received our cat from @babe and it's wonderful, shown here at the feet of our Romero Britto piece, Cheryl, on what might now have to become a cat collection shelf since we now own a whole two works of art there. We'll need to think of a name for the cat, too.

That looks like the sort of varied beer selection we always pick up and which is decorating our fridge at the moment. Planning to try a few in the garden after work today, though, as it's hot and sunny here and the weekend's just about to start.

Now, obviously this is Mastodon and Mastodon is not where you'd go if you wanted to talk about #sports normally, but since we're currently watching #9BallPool and will soon be watching #RugbyLeague on Sky Sports, I thought I'd mention that my wife and I - and we're somewhat camera-shy - were once live on Sky Sports while attending the 2002 Mosconi Cup in London and for a while there was video evidence of it on YouTube. So there. #MosconiCup

Fell down an internet rabbit hole and ended up here at the Vintage Pool Party group on Flickr dedicated to vintage swimming pool imagery from the 1930s to 1980s. It's mostly from 50s and 60s American motel postcards and I love this design aesthetic that includes lots of great examples of Googie architecture with its then-futuristic style.

@tim I agree with you, and most instances do that to some extent anyway I think - the Moderated Servers list here, for example: https://mstdn.social/about - but I would definitely like to see announcements being made if my instance host decided that a whole swathe of the federation was about to be cut off for what's really just personal reasons to give people like me time to find another instance more suitable to my needs.
