Mark H@tim I agree with you, and most instances do that to some extent anyway I think - the Moderated Servers list here, for example: https://mstdn.social/about - but I would definitely like to see announcements being made if my instance host decided that a whole swathe of the federation was about to be cut off for what's really just personal reasons to give people like me time to find another instance more suitable to my needs.
