@itgrrl @thomasfuchs +1! This is what we have for the same air filter, whose lights (even when explicitly turned off) won't actually always stay off. They're great for the random little lights around the bedroom.

Mobile Safari’s Reader Mode toggle button, designed to remove distractions and create a more pleasant reading environment, shows the user at least 5 options they must interact with first. (Mine has 10.)

@thomasfuchs FWIW I've found a lot of great stuff on craigslist! Obviously there's a different set of risks there, and in my neck of the woods it takes a longer time, but I've scored great deals and sold things quickly too.

I dunno, instead of a $20,000 Bezos-backed pickup truck that requires an upcharge for nearly everything, even though it's a gas engine I'd be hard pressed not to just get a damn Corolla for $22k (starting).

The Corolla also comes with infotainment which the Slate, incredibly, doesn't. You can also take the Corolla through a car wash. And you can get it painted in various colors. And you don't need an app to use it. Also, it has power windows, which the Slate does not.

So yeah.

But also let’s get real: Volvo is actively decontenting its vehicles and moving downmarket. Hell, you don’t even get 4 window switches on them anymore! They’re gonna coast on a great brand for a long while.

And out here in 2025, Volvo bumped the starting price by $10k by not offering the lowest trim in the US. The EX30 now rings up at $45k for starters. Swing and a miss
