However, since absolutely no information was provided as to why the account was reported or which particular posts caused offense, no action will be taken.
If you have a minute, can you try replying to that, then I'll reply back? It's possible the issue is with reply threads, but I'm just stabbing in the dark here
I'm pondering how best to make use of the subscription feature while still being a Tor instance, but actual monthly subs/sub post access relies on either being a local user or federating with an outside instance that can reliably see posts/images.
Opening local registration on an .onion only instance is a huge moderation burden, but so far that might be the only way to reliably take advantage of the feature.
@ryo@DarkMahesvara@Giganova8 Many people commented "they really bungled the initial announcement", but their behavior makes a lot more sense when you think of the initial statement as a Trial Balloon, and the current announcement as modified based on feedback to it
@DarkMahesvara It fits the theory that the rules change is motivated by the flood of sketchy AI generated/realistic 3D.
Though I'd always fear that this is just the thin end of a larger wedge. I echo @ryo 's sentiment, I'm not happy giving pixiv the benefit of the doubt anymore.
@Leaflord Cliff Notes Version: -Vice creates docu hit piece about how manga/anime is Literally Child Porn -Posts on JewTube, actively geoblocks Japanese views -News gets out, JP sub version is made and uploaded to NicoNico -Vice lawyers submit takedown, JP sub version is gone -I got a copy of the subbed video file, and am now uploading it basically everywhere to see how serious Vice is about this
Vice is being oddly defensive about this one. If they're going to go to all the trouble of producing a piece that smears and insults the entire Japanese industry, I'm not sure why they'd care that Japanese people see it.
Unless there's some legal problems they're worried about, and I think they might be.
