I gave up trying to find a good Pope quote on Mercy. Obviously popes have plenty to say on this theme (hello again, Pope Francis) but I wanted to get something from a Tolkien contemporary and it was a rough job. Pius XI (1922-1939) had a lot to say about the evils of socialism. Pius XII was big on nuclear disarmament. In the end I thought Tolkien himself make a great interpretation of his faith (more direct, at least).
"Similarly, good actions by those on the wrong side will not justify their cause. There may be deeds on the wrong side of heroic courage, or some of a higher moral level: deeds of mercy and forbearance. A judge may accord them honour and rejoice to see how some men can rise above the hate and anger of a conflict; even as he may deplore the evil deeds on the right side and be grieved to see how hatred once provoked can drag them down."

Not likely to make it in to @Roots, but I love this quote.
I started to install #lineageos on my phone, and aborted. Typically I've only ever done this on a phone that has been worn out or replaced. I thought about replacing the os on my #OnePlus device, but apparently there's a thing called #deviceIntegrity now, which would mean my phone couldn't send RCS messages, among other things.
#bread! Just your basic mountain white bread. The new thing is that instead of proofing for 1-2 hours on the counter, I leave it in the fridge over night. I also did NOT work a ton of extra flour into the dough. The result is huge and fluffy, and has baby's first gas bubbles.
@bss@seedsignal I've read some Bookchin and I've tried some organizing for various causes in my suburban town. It gets exhausting, esp when balancing family and work. How do you do it?
