Tapping the sign again - "sanity" is a framework of ableism, and using "sane" to describe things that are (for example) competent, earnest, above-board, practical, or expedient is a way to perpetuate and reinforce mistreatment of marginalized people. Is that really what you want to accomplish?

Seconding Ascension, it's similar to Dominion if you've ever encountered that one. I'd also throw in Valley of the Kings and Race for the Galaxy as great 2p deckbuilding options.

Another fun one with deckbuilding as an element is Clank! but i think it's at its best with 3-4 players. Maybe less true for the new iteration (Catacombs) but i haven't gotten to play that one yet.

Thinking again about the mind-boggling mass of wood that's being moved and disposed of across western NC after the storm. There's so much, and it's heavy, and unwieldy, and dangerous at times. Much of it resists easy stacking. It's obviously impractical to dispose of, in the modern solid waste sense. But the demands of our harsh God, The Economy, insist that it must be removed and discarded anyway, with all reasonable speed, to minimize disruptions to profit.

And I think about how much of the living energy of the mountains for a hundred years or more is bound up in that wood. If we had the time and the tools and the skills, we could put so much of it to so many uses. Or we could leave it be, rearrange paths and roads and plans to accommodate the needs of the soil.

But instead, the bulk of it will be (as far as I can tell) shredded, burned, or just dumped, far from where it grew.
