This hits close to home in multiple ways. For one, I’m physically not terribly far from Littleton. For another, at least one of my own children is LGTBQ.
The article and many of the townspeople take a reasonable stance that religion is not the root of the problem. I disagree on that point; it seems to me that religion is inherently tribalistic and divisive. Muddles like this are going to happen at long as that tribalism is normal.

@nsarwark Maybe some movements fail because their members fall en masse for conspiracy theories and effectively become assets of influence campaigns, typically by Russia, China, and Iran.
@cwebber I have a friend who was in our State legislature. She put forward a bill legalizing sex work. Her own Democratic Party "leadership" made it their top priority to marginalize and dehumanize her. It was traumatic just to watch, say nothing of what it was like for her on the receiving end.
