1. They're Wrong, and there's no reason to associate with them based on the fact that "they don't believe some things we do either!"
2. You don't need millions of people for a "movement". I thought this was a learned lesson, but I don't think it is.

This is what DK was talking about. There are fields of pretend that do not correlate to the world, and there are fields of science that require you to know certain truths about how it all goes together. "We didn't go to the Moon because it was Hard! Look at all of these Goofy Bloopers!" is in the same category of stupid shit. Why would NASA stop pretending, if it pretended to get to the moon the first time? Why not get a bunch of guys together on a TS film set and set up a little moonbase? Why was there an 80-year space dark-age where we never escaped LEO again? Why is NASA spending so much time on "getting ready" for ARTEMIS I and II if they can just spin up a film-set and some After-Effects to photoshop Brandon onto the moon?

The tools to verify the greatness of your forefathers are always at hand. The Greeks had to make do with a well to figure out the shape of the Earth. You have other means.

I don't know who those people you refer to are so you're likely bullshitting trying to win a point, I don't give a shit about "lesser degrees of wrong", YEC's blatantly incorrect, and "catering" only makes sense when you have a clientele and not a bunch of dissidents packed like a can of sardines into a containment site.
There isn't an argument to be had here. It's similar to being asked to take "separate but equal" on good faith, it doesn't gel with the body of evidence we've generated, it undermines the wider point of "Whitey good, Christianity and Science Good, Universe is Dependable and Knowable because of Dependable God," and overall none of these points will make it to the half-baked who hold YEC beliefs.
